 Because starrynight111  linked a few Merlin secrets in her Bradley/Colin tinhat thread that made me smile and happy, I surfed a few latest posts in the fandomsecrets  to look for Merlin ones. I then realised that I pick on Gwen because her fans are hilariously deffensive and think she shits rainbow, that usually only make meanies like me being meanier. Anyway someone in one

I have been rewatching season one, and your totally right. I remember loving Gwen, all of her character traits were so endearing and just she was so friendly and loyal. Her character for season 2 share none of these traits, hell, she only really speaks to Merlin (who seemed like her second bf after Morgana) only once, and when Morgana went missing all she could think about was Arthur.
The writers really fucked up her character, they fucked up everyone's characters this year, shaping them around the script instead of the script shaping around the characters. Some episodes were a mess, (I still can't watch ep 1 without the commentary w/B&C cause their whole relationship is just a complete turnaround when you compare it to 1.13), and some did "okay". But still, there were so many flaws...

I'm getting away from the whole Gwen thing... ANYWAY
I think Angel did okay, I love her, though I do think that some scenes could have been better, every time Arthur and her were together it just seemed so awkward, like step-cousins kissing or something. (i don't know where that simile came from, but I'm sure it makes sorta-sense) That's something that could have been changed, and I know that Katie said if they didn't want their character to say a certain thing, they were allowed to speak up, and I wonder if Angel ever did because I certainly would be angered if I thought that the character I was playing was changing in not-so-lovely ways, (like you said, only caring for Arthur, that's just maddening!)

The A/G shippers are mostly very rude, i dislike the lot of them and just try to not get in their communities, however, I gotta agree with what anony_mouse19 said about they're very aggressive for people who get to see their pairing (and know what will happen) on the show. Those kids need to chill the fuck out.

Now not only my mind and body and every body hair is enlighted after reading the meta but the comments make me feel like I'm bathed in warm spring sunlight! Her beauty and determination and gentleness give me hopes and strenghth. I think of her when I'm in difficulties! Look at her! humble, beautiful, she has to bear the burden of her class on her fragiles shoulders, despite all the odd she still fight, alone, agaisnt the evil that nobles are, to be with her love(s?). I love Gwen so much! *embrace the rainbow*

Ermm I wanted to voice those sentiments over there, but I'm afraid my overflowing sentiments would scare ppl off, something about fanatics dubious of newcomers, so I have to share it with you here. I feel so good and gentle and strong now something my cynist self fail to give me before. ^.^ F the cynism!
