About fandom's not so secrets

 Because starrynight111  linked a few Merlin secrets in her Bradley/Colin tinhat thread that made me smile and happy, I surfed a few latest posts in the fandomsecrets  to look for Merlin ones. I then realised that I pick on Gwen because her fans are hilariously deffensive and think she shits rainbow, that usually only make meanies like me being meanier. Anyway someone in one

i kind of agree.i mean i agree the writing is bad and they make some of the characters do stuff that makes you go wtf.but i don't think Angel's bad.i think she acts good and she tries which is the only thing that's stopping me from disliking the character.they made Gwen so entitled this season ("leave Arthur to me" orly?).she was a handmaid for idk maybe not her entire life but for long enough, how could she get first base with the prince,heir to the throne so quickly.Arthur may have made advances but i thought she would hold back more.i don't know.A/G is way too rushed anyway.

some of her fans are kinda annoying.especially the ones who think whoever doesn't like A/G is a racist.seriously?idk what they think, do they honestly believe people would have no problems whatsoever if the actress playing Gwen had been white?that's just taking it too far and making an issue where there isn't one.
the ones who attack slashers also annoy me.they're very aggressive for people who get to see their pairing on the show.oh poor poor A/G shippers.how they suffer in the hands of evul slashers.

sorry, I am suddenly in the mood for this topic :D

Shippers are always biased! but cool shippers know to mock and laugh at their ship. This goes with ppl in general, the cool ones are the ones who know their weakness and mock themselves and accept the mocking from others.

Merlin/Arthur shippers are sorta cool (shipping afterall is for funny isnt it?) they even mock Merlin's blind loyalty. I remember having laughed so hard after ep 2.01 where Sigan the crow talked Merlin into dark side raving on about dominating Arthur and shippers all like, but I am the bottom! hahah

I think even though Gwen shippers get to see their ship in canon they are still a (very) minority of the Merlin fandom, that' s why they are loud. They are out of main events such as Big Bang or reel merlin, I don't know if it's because they feel alone and underappreciated thus avoid those places. Even in anonymous kinkme_merlin the promps are sporadic.
The things is that they are incapable of NOT throwing flowers and confetti on their ship whenever they go that's why they are always alone in multiship comms. They cannot accept the fact that their ship becomes forced and their female turns mary sue and so they blame it on racism. I'm glad I am excentric so I don't mind being called a racist if it's the only hat they could put on my head heh.

What made me into this fandom at the beginning was the funny fact of a fandom with like 99,9% (very justified) slash, S2 spoils it for me because the uncool het. Seriously, dont make out of me a misogynist, because I normally like het! Buffy for example, flawful but hot like crazy. And I'm not after Arthur for crying out loud. I never refused the idea of Merlin/Gwen or Arthur/Morgana in s1, I bought what was sold. Merlin is my baby I won't give him to ones I dislike, mind you!

I doubt if Gwen was white (and supposedly in character in s2) she would have so many fans hah ^_~ there even was a thread someone made calling out for Gwen support because this is like for the first time a black female has an important grand (Queen) role. So pityful! for color ppl, and for our society to induce such thinking.
