Happy something or other. Supposedly.
The coffee bar closes on Monday.
It's not as sudden a decision as it might seem. It is both a business decision and a personal one. Customers significantly dropped off after spring break (It always does according to Michelle...), and there have been a few other instances to prompt this. I made the somewhat unwise decision of trusting somebody with the coffee bar's secrets who was a bit naive. That person did help a lot over the course of the year, and I thank them for it, but it's been equal parts sweet and sour. Things on both ends of the spectrum have gotten to a point where I am not willing to keep it up anymore.
As of tomorrow, the last of the sodas (some creams that Mrs. Ortiz gave us) will be sold for cheap. I might make coffee on Monday for the last day if people ask.
Tuesday I'll bring a few scrubbies and I (hopefully with a little help) will clean up the area. I'll need some help with that and carrying things out to the car... I'll probably hang onto the appliances until next year.
Jess and Sara, I still have an unopened can of coffee or two that I'll bequeath as part of my helping to start the coffee bar next year. Sometime around the first of August we'll all get together and I'll show you both the ropes.
