scenesters? you don't even know the first thing about being a scenester.

i've never done anything to harm the "scene kids" that infect san diego's local shows with nothing more than their fashion sense and fake smiles. i've always been courteous and respectful, and unless they were blatantly egotistical, i've always talked to them whenever they were around.

the fact of the matter remains that many of them are simply "too good" for anyone who isn't like them.

i'm talking about the people that began to come to local shows because their friends were going to local shows. the people that cut their hair and dye it every other week to whatever the cool color is. the people that think they're fat because their anorexic friends can fit a size zero and they themselves are a three. or how about the people that refer to genres of music as periods of time in their life. "oh, back when i was pop punk..."

what the fuck? when you were "pop punk?" as if that's any way to categorize what kind of a person you were. you got into music because it was fun, right? or maybe you really are a scenester. if your friends have the same haircut as you, or you look down on them for wearing a brand name shirt, or you think that their listening to green day makes you better than them, you're fucking pathetic.

i'm seriously done with scenester kids. all of these kids who get into it because it's the cool thing to do. the same kids that didn't go to warped this year because it "got old." music doesn't get old. music is a lifeline by which many people live. many people are still on the planet because they have songs that show them that other people have felt the way they have, and gone on to talk about it and live their lives.

i support this scene more than anyone i know. i buy shirts, stickers, buttons, albums, and anything else i feel might help a band out... even if it is only a little bit. i'll go to a local show and spend $45 of the $50 i bring to the show on band merchandise despite the fact that i should save money to keep my design company running. oh, and that's another thing. when did it become cool to start your own design company? some of these kids have NO IDEA what they're doing, and they're just ripping off other artists to make profit.

san diego used to have a really cool scene. then the majority of you people destroyed it. for that, none of you will ever be half of what the true "scenesters" are.

support all, or get the fuck out. your bullshit is getting old.
