Has anyone heard of this guy named Maitreya the Teacher? He is supposedly some "Master Teacher" of Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Messiah of the Jews, practically every religious leader or messiah of a religion. Anyway, I found this website, I guess it's an official website dedicated to him http://www. ( Read more... )

My belief would be that he would be another false prophet, but there will be a shake up in the year 2008. The fall of President Bush some time in June or July of that year. We will have a new Pope before 2011. The Democrats will take over in the 2008 election and then you will see world war three before 2012.

I know I'm a bit late concerning this post(just joined) and I once did suspect him to be THE anti-christ, but I believe he's just one of the many false prophets who is used by the Lord(for the Word says all things work to the counsel of His will) to decieve those who do not have love for the Truth(which is in Christ Jesus and Him alone and His Word for He is the Word) but take pleasure in unrighteousness.

I thought the Day of Declaration was suppossed to have occurred in June or July of '04 or '05...whatever. These decievers couldn't decieve unless the Lord granted them to for the above word because many will not endure the sound doctrine of the Word and will go astray due to the cravings of the lusts that dwell in them for all falsehood.

From Wikipedia searching with "maitreya":

Maitreya Bodhisattva (Sanskrit), Metteyya Bodhisatta (Pāli), or Miroku Bosatsu (Japanese, kanji 弥勒) is the future Buddha in Buddhist eschatology. Maitreya is a bodhisattva who some Buddhists believe will eventually appear on earth, achieve complete enlightenment, and teach the pure dharma. Maitreya Bodhisattva will be the successor of the historic Śākyamuni Buddha. He is predicted to be a “world-ruler,” uniting those over whom he rules. The prophecy of the arrival of Maitreya is found in the canonical literature of all Buddhist sects (Theravāda, Mahāyāna, Tantrayāna, Navayāna, Purnayāna, Triyāna and Vajrayāna) and is accepted by most Buddhists as a statement about an actual event that will take place in the distant future.

"How will the whole world see this - on television. This would have been impossible even a hundred years ago."

Good point there! I agree with you on everything else that you said too. A lot of people feel that way.
