[he shouldn't be trying to use his arm yet-- he knows this fact; it hasn't even been twenty-four hours since the surgery. The pain is severe enough to warrant a distraction however, so he goes for the journal. ...Unfortunately, the thing is resting off to his left, making it only reachable by one shiny brand-new limb.
So... the residents are soon treated to the sudden wild spinning view of a clinic room over the camera, as the journal tumbles open and hits the ground-- followed by a soft sound of annoyance.
Just perfect.
After sending the thing one exhausted glare, he lays back in the clinic bed again and lets his mind wander-- quite literally. If he can't find entertainment via the journal, then he's just going to have to put forth a little effort into a different avenue of distraction. Shutting his eyes against the feel of the heavy metal appendage hanging on his muscles and skeleton and nerves, he lets the range of his mind expand. Reaching for and exploring nearby presences as they light up in his mind. Testing himself, focusing on the curiosity of whether or not he can recognize them as they come into 'view,' tracking their movements as they go about their business.]
((ooc: he might not answer over the journal, being that it's laying on the ground and he feels like shit. But very open to anyone around the clinic, even if they don't actually go in to see him-- he can see you. He'll be watching for days, so also open to people who might be in the area on different days this week))
