Having fun with no car

Katie and I sold the car a few weeks ago, so currently neither of us has a motorized vehicle. Duluth has a shitty bus system; only two buses go near my house, and one of them is the worst possible bus; the other is my favorite bus line. The thing is, they usually only run every 30-45 minutes, and, depending on the time and day, they might only run every 60 minutes. So half the time, I'm thinking, "I should go to the co-op to get X and Y," and check the bus times.
Next departure: 35 minutes. Arrives at location within 15 minutes of departure.
Time to walk: 25-30 minutes.
So I walk! I've been walking virtually everywhere, except back from the grocery store (with milk or meat in tow, I prefer to take the bus, but I have to time it just right). I walk to school, I walk to the store, I walk downtown, I walk to Walgreens, I walk to the gym, I walk to the lake and the creek and work and...well, you get the idea.
Today wouldn't have been so bad, but I had to work all day (sit/stand/sit/stand/sit/stand) then do martial arts which, while not strenuous, required a lot of focusing on balance. Then I had to go to the grocery store; it was faster to walk than wait for the bus. Then I wanted to get home; it was faster to walk than to wait for the bus. Fuck's sake.
It doesn't help that this is the end of the week before school starts, so there are lots of douchy freshmen girls and boys who all look the same and talk the same and are all drunk and swearing and partying and "whooo!" both on and off campus. Ugh. Sucks to walk and wade and wait through that, but oh well! I probably need the exercise.

Time for tea with Chamomille!
