I feel like writing tonight. Right. Desire is such an overbearing emotion. It can be applied to so many aspects in our lives. It's like you see this or that, or think this or that.....and you NEED to have it. I guess some would say that we are such an insidiously consumerist society. The whole problem with consumerism is that it is so captivating and importunate. There is such a lust for everything, if I have this or that it is going to make this or that better. We much too often want something better than what we already carry. It's such a destruction of our minds. There is such an unquenchable thirst for so much more all of the time. We become attached to those feelings. It is possible to break down that feeling. It is simple and hard in the same exact sentence. One must matriculate into the thought of not letting your desire's control you, and learn how to control your desire's and realize a couple of things. It is not the whole idea of wanting that is bad, it is at what degree...and well, if you are overly controlled by your desire...all you will end up doing is become agonized. We are all subject to these feelings at one point or another. How often do you have everything you need right in front of your eyes, and you just can't see how good it is because you overlook it and you begin to want things that you do not have in your possession yet? Some of us are smart enough to realize this and can show a great sense of gratitude towards what really is part of us now and not become too wrapped up in wanting other things. And well, sometimes you need to stumble and realize that. And other times, some people might never learn and just keep living for a fantasy that does not exist because they will not let it exist because even if they are able to obtain it, they fall back and become consumed by that feeling of wanting something they can't have reiteratively. It's just a cycle in most of our minds. It's so hard to break, but once you do, you aren't in for as many disappointments. You begin to realize the importance of what you have...and what the things right in front of your own eyes could mean if you really took the time to actually apprehend what they are. Take a look sometime, there is more than you believe...nine times out of ten.
