Birth Control Blog Carnival

Jul 21, 2011 17:32

Just wanted to alert folks to a birth control blog carnival here, organized by Planned Parenthood and the National Women's Law Center.

I know that people here have had different experiences and levels of success with using hormonal birth control to suppress endo symptoms, if hormonal birth control was even a good option for their personal goals and needs. But I also know that a significant number of people have had financial roadblocks to accessing the BC methods that might work best for them -- and financial access is a key focus of this blog carnival.

The majority of posts do focus on birth control for the purpose of preventing pregnancy, but a number of them discuss the non-contraceptive benefits of HBC as well. (And if I can shamelessly self-promote, my contribution -- Gushing -- does zero in on HBC as an avenue for controlling endo-related symptoms, as that's always been my primary reason for using hormonal methods of contraception.)

I'm still reading through the contributions over there, but I'll edit this post if I find any more that focus on endo.
