Notes:
* I would recommend all books by Sarah Addison Allen. I think they are light and charming and full of gentle magic. I would recommend Garden Spells over The Girl Who Chased the Moon though, as it is my favorite of hers.
* If I could give We Have Always Lived in the Castle more than 5 stars, I would. It was an instant favorite and I knew it would be before I had finished reading it. I cannot recommend it enough. I had been a long time since I had wanted to reread a book right after finishing it.
* My favorite comic this time around is the short I Kill Giants. I would recommend this even to people who generally do not read comics. It is touching and magical and real.
* I was surprised that I didn't like The Wild Things more. I am not sure why I wasn't that pleased with it. I just can't pinpoint it. I think, in the end, too much detail about Max's adventure, took a little bit of magic away. I preferred the movie (and the original book by Sendak)
* I was pleasantly surprised by The Hunger Games, as I do not read much adventure books, but I am getting more interested in dystopian worlds and reality. I really got caught in the story, and it was such a fun read. I couldn't put it down.
* Even though I gave Rampant 3 stars, I must recommend it. It took me a long time to like and get used to the characters, but the world had me fascinated. It's about killer unicorns and the legendary hunters that hunt and kill them. The author built a whole mythology around the unicorns and the hunters as well as different species of unicorns with their specific characteristics and habits, etc. I was truly enchanted by this aspect of the book and will definitely read its sequel once it comes out.
