I can't believe some people just couldn't stay away from the eggs. How much do you need bad news to be spelled out to you before you realise it?

[ Sort of B|.. but then she just shrugs and seems less concerned with it. ]

I guess most of you learned your lesson either way by now, right?

[ She looks like she wants to say more, but then pauses. ( Read more... )

[ ... Pause. ]

I didn't know you liked candy that much, Souji.

Good enough to justify 'always I wanna be with you'?

You know, he wasn't that bad.

Perhaps we should just elect him as the official village bard.

I wonder if he'd appreciate that.

Don't you already know the answer to that? It isn't like that guy's hard to read.

He might do it just to mess with you.

I didn't know there was such an evil mastermind present in the village.

I figured you'd be more suspicious.

It's a little hard to suspect someone singing about how much they want to be with me and make believe with me, right? And even if they'd turn out to be the evil mastermind after all, it would be a little too obvious to be used in a well written mystery.

But you've just said that it'd be hard to suspect him. Surely that'd make him the better villain?

[Although this is steering a little close to uncomfortable territory.]

That's right. But if you look at it from a different angle, perhaps you should exactly suspect him because he's the least likely choice. And that would just make it predictable all over again.

[ Totally oblivious.. ]

[The least likely, Souji thinks, and his expression doesn't change but he's quiet for a long moment before his lips quirk and he meets her eyes.]

I didn't know you were so into detective stories.

I never particularly cared for them. But I guess you could say circumstances forced me to rethink my opinion on that matter.

[ Because her life is a detective story.. ]

It's mostly just logical thinking either way.
