Yay! As usual, I had to read a few other people's opinions (including yours, because I went and found them :D) before I could come up with the words to express my own, so I'm glad it all made sense to someone other than me.
ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU JUST SAID IN THAT LAST LINK. YES. This is why I hardly ever say the things. Because people like you have already said them so much more eloquently than I could ever dream of doing.
Even though I reeeeeeeeeeally loved it, and my overriding reaction was one of "LOOK AT ALL THE ANGSTY PRETTY SOMEBODY HOLD ME", certain aspects of it still left me with a bad taste in my mouth (on top of the one I already had from Helen's "I married a man I hate" in "Out Of The Blue"), and you just captured them all so beautifully right there.
I SECOND THIS: ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU JUST SAID IN THAT LAST LINK. YES. I feel like I should quote Bad Blood at this point: "What she said, that's what I'm thinking" ;)
Huzzah! I will! Because I can! I can read all of the fic and reblog all of the Tumblr posts and geek out all over the internet without having to worry about anything. SWEET FREEDOM.
OH YOU HAVE SEEN IT! I will gladly take the blame btw or any complaints because I love what you just wrote. It made me feel just a tiny little bit better about the whole thing. Because I was really pissed off after seeing the episode. So, yeah, a little bit less pissed off now but still heartbroken because WHY DO THEY HAVE TO HURT US LIKE THAT? WITH THEIR PERFECT FACES AND THEIR ANGST AND THEIR LOVE? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??
(AND ALSO: WHY IS OCTOBER 7 SO FAR AWAY? WHYYYY?)
Don't be sorry for your reblog!palooza, I always love them ;)
I have! Heee, I didn't really think you'd mind. Even though my thoughts are a little...fixated. But I would give my last breath defending John, so I had to get all that out. Glad I could make you feel a little bit better. :)
I agree so much with the thoughts in your post, too. Helen did overreact, but like most people as far as I can tell from what I've read, I figure it's a hangover from what she'd just been through in "Out Of The Blue". She's not in a happy place, and John's easy to take it out on. And hey, she's got a right to be mad. I know I would be. But it's like we both said, right? Her words say one thing, but her actions say something very different. IT'S SO NOT OVER.
