i was listening to "rebellion" by the arcade fire. a good friend asked me what i thought about the song.
i rambled on a bit about what i thought of one line that had just been sung;
"every time you close your eyes, lies."
i told her i felt like they where saying dreams are just lies. which, is true. dreams are not the truth.
it.s an odd way to look at dreams, especially since they.re usually portrayed in such a light manner.
then i mentioned that as we get older, most of us forget our dreams more often because they become less and less memorable as we use our imagination less and less.
when i was young i would have the most interesting dreams. i can still remember bits of them to this day.
when i dream now? it.s all pretty monotonous.
