(7:00) The Boarding House

Jun 04, 2011 12:03

Stefan hadn't started getting dressed yet. Instead, he was sitting on his bed, his diary in his hand. He needed a few minutes to himself, never mind the afternoon he had to himself, that hadn't counted considering he spent most of it trying to come up with their next move. All he had come up with was, talk to Damon. Buffy was a vampire killer with ( Read more... )

Damon thought they already had enough on their hands what with having to stop Katherine from getting the moonstone. And as much as it was about protecting Elena and her family, getting rid of Katherine was also about revenge. All the years he'd wasted obsessing over her...

"Let me guess. You've run out of things to brood about." Like his brother, Damon wasn't dressed yet either. But he figured they shouldn't bother showing up so soon. Better to wait for the crowd to gather.

Stefan decided to ignore the tired and overused quip in favor of reading the passage aloud. "When one vampire slayer falls, another is called - the line neverending." He handed the book to Damon, should he have wanted to take it. "I did research today. Buffy is from what I can tell, a vampire slayer. And there's more where she came from if she does become a problem. Kill her and another one follows right after."

He glanced down at the fire.

"Slayers have enhanced strength. Speed. Agility. And they're trained to kill, Damon. To kill us."

"I know." He scanned the page with a frown. "I've already met her." He wasn't all too worried about Buffy though. He already had plans to wrap her around his little finger. "Guess I forgot to mention it. She thinks I'm Alaric." He raised his eyebrows at that. "As in, vampire killer at night, and your regular boring, good guy everyday."

"She's in your back pocket?" he asked, studying his brother. "When did you - you told her your name's Alaric?" Why would he ever have done that. "I think she knows who you are, Damon."

"Clearly, the better looking brother." He let out a smile, finished his drink and poured more scotch into his glass. "What I meant was, she thinks I'm a vampire slayer, little brother. She's even offered to help me. Thinks I shouldn't do it on my own."

Damon moved to sit on the couch and he continued to flip through the pages. "If you're worried, then we should just kill her. This whole, another slayer being born nonsense, could be... well, nonsense."

"I don't think Buffy cares about that," he replied. Right then, he thought. She had just gotten over a break up. He doubted her finding he or Damon attractive or, he doubted her acting on it. "How friendly of her," he added. Another glance as the fire and he followed his brother. While Damon sat, Stefan paced.

"Threat or not, Buffy Summers is still human." It annoyed Stefan that he had to remind Damon of this. Damon, who wouldn't have blinked an eye at killing her. "You think the book might be inaccurate?"

"Only one way to find out. Besides, I don't think she's human. She almost broke my back when she threw me across her shoulder." Oh. Right. He flicked his gaze at Stefan. He might have forgotten to mention the part where he playfully tried to attack her at the playground. "Let's not focus on that. Thing is, we should just get rid of her. At least, we'll know this book is more fact than fiction." He smirked and threw the book back at Stefan before he suddenly moved to stand in front of him.

"I need you to focus on the bigger problem right now. Katherine."

"She-" But, he didn't finish his question. He didn't want to know. Had Damon attacked her at first, claiming he had thought she was a vampire? He didn't have enough time to think about the answer because Damon spoke up again. "Human or not human, she looks human and she's enrolled in school. She's -" His friend. But, he couldn't say that out loud. Stefan caught the book that was suddenly thrown at him.

"We have no idea what her next move is going to be."

He placed his hand on Stefan's shoulder. "Then let's work on figuring that out." He was tired of Katherine's games. He wanted to hurt her the way she hurt him. He wanted revenge for what she did to them. "We have to get rid of her. For Elena's sake." Yes. Bring up the girlfriend. He figured that would get Stefan riled up and ready to kill. "We already know she wants the moonstone and she knows we have it. She'll come to us and when she does..." He stabbed his finger against Stefan's chest. "We end her."

"Where should we start?" he asked, mostly rhetorically as he continued pacing. "Elena's not going to this dance." He knew Damon was on the same wavelength. And Elena hopefully believed that Stefan and Damon weren't attending. "To end her, we have to get to her. To get to her, we have to lure her out. We'll need the moonstone."

"Well, brother. I guess for tonight, we'll just have to see if Katherine shows up. Maybe if we're lucky, I'll get to put a stake through her heart." He lifted his glass up before finishing the rest of his scotch. "I'm going to go feed. On a blood packet," he added. "Wouldn't want anyone losing their prom date."

Damon gestured toward the antique clock on the wall. "You know you're going to be late if you don't start getting ready. We both know how much time you spend on that hero hairdo."
