Verse post, obviously. Possible spoilers but only if you haven't seen the trailer for 'The End of Time' but there's your warning anyways.
Default/Open: The Doctor and the Master in the TARDIS. Not an AU based around 'The Sound of Drums' or 'Last of the Time Lords'. The Master died and he's come back, only to be found by the Doctor who, naturally, isn't about to let him go off on his own. Very vague on the mechanics of his return, seeing as I do not wish to be spoiled by the hows until I see the special. So, for the sake of remaining unspoiled, even the Master is unsure of exactly how he's been brought back.
Canon: Not exactly used often seeing as his only canon appearance in this regeneration is in two episodes, in which he died in the second one. Also, I tend to go with a sort of loose canon, cause strictly canon is never as much fun since we have (or will have) already seen it. That being said, this encompasses the short time he was on Mallcassario in this regeneration before leaving the Doctor, Jack and Martha stranded there with the Futurekind. Also included is the 18 months on Earth as he entrenched himself deeper into a position of power, hidden by the Archangel Network and the Year (that never was) aboard the Valiant. ANOTHER SPOILER WARNING HERE!!! It will also include his canon return at the end of this year once it is aired and I'm able to watch it. He will be played canonly and all fandom-mates will be tormented accordingly, I promise. :D Again, I'm stressing that I don't wish to know exactly how he returns. Usually I don't mind spoilers but this time, I do. I seriously do. Please, do not. Thank you.
Forgotten Lives: Based on this fic. The Master used the Chameleon Arch to escape from the Doctor, since he was doomed to spend eternity trapped with him in the TARDIS. It also served as a blow against the Doctor's psyche and a small victory since he would rather live out his life as a human than spend what time he had with him. He knows his name, or rather the one he goes by, Harry. He's got all his papers, thanks to Torchwood, but he doesn't remember much about his 'life' other than snippets. The Doctor, using the name John Smith, checks up on him but only allows Jack to keep an eye on him as far as Torchwood goes. So, if you are a Companion of the Doctor's, he won't know you. If you are another of Jack's team, he won't know you. He doesn't remember his 'life' as Harold Saxon. It's all due to a terrible accident he was in and he accepts that, though it might be due to the whole process. I will also not that I have very few icons specifically for human!him and I hate having to reuse over and over so some of the regular ones that don't 'give too much away' will be used during these posts.
He still has the Drums, just as Professor Yana did but they're only a minor annoyance for the moment. The fob watch, that contains the essence of who he really is, remains safely locked away on the TARDIS.
