"I knew letting you out of the TARDIS was a bad idea!" snapped the Doctor as he and the Master ran as fast as they could from the authorities.
The Master only laughed, this was the most fun he'd had since being Lord and Master over Earth for a whole year. "Oh, come now, it was just a little bomb!"
"I don't think they appreciated that sentiment! In here!" he pointed, skidding to a halt in front of a dance hall that was currently entertaining for a well-to-do family whose daughter was coming of age.
"Are you asking me out on another date?" he asked, tone belying the seriousness of their situation.
"Master!" His tone was exasperated and very much the, we're very possibly going to die for certain this time, but the Master wasn't budging. "You're not serious? Now? You want me to pay up for that bet now?!"
The Master crossed his arms over his chest, chin tilted upward as he looked down on him. "It would appear so."
"Now really isn't the time!" The Doctor didn't care that he sounded like a petulant child that suddenly was told he'd be sharing his toys with the school bully.
"You promised."
"But I thought you meant like a proper date!" he was babbling now cause the officers were getting closer and he really didn't see any way out of this other than actually giving into the Master. "You do proper dancing on a proper date! Not on the run."
"Which I'm sure you could never pull off by any stretch of the definition of proper, and so it is your move."
The officers came closer and Ten unconsciously ran his fingers through his hair as he tried to think of anything else. There wasn't anything else. The Master would win this small little victory and the Doctor knew the grin that started to spread over his not-Companion's face even as he grabbed his hand and drug him into the crowd and onto the dance floor.
"Why Doctor, I thought you'd never ask." he smirked exultantly.
