Player's Bunk

- awakening with a murderous hangover.  The player's first thoughts are of drowning in a sea of pounding hammers, followed by one word burned into the back of your retinas.  Lo, the word is COFFEE.

3 Random Bunk Rooms
- steal coffee, aspirin, loose change, etc.  Justified by... "well, uh, I'm sure that (they'd do the same to me) (they'll ask if they want it back) (etc)"

Hallways - 6 in total

Captain's Quarters
The captain has recently been beheaded by a razortoothed three-toed sloth. Also hanging out in this room are a few security codes and an evacuation plan for the ship.  [Escape could possibly require feeding the sloth some aspirin]

The Bridge
The duty roster lies open on a desk.  Reading it will reveal that your job is (cleaning the chicken soup machine)  (making sure the animals are securely locked up after their nightly whipping) (nothing; you've been suspended for the last three weeks)

(Laundry)
You can raid the dirty laundry for 'stuff'.

Dining Area
A scene of grisly carnage awaits the intrepid adventurer as does a lion and an ape.  Trying to walk past the lion is perfectly safe.  Trying to walk past the ape will cause you to recognise the ape as Barry the Security Guy Without His Shirt On, followed by recognising the blur moving towards you as your spleen.  Sitting impassively at the table is a companionable robot named La Cherie.

(If we want to go completely over the top with our robot-abuse theme, La Cherie could be fused to the seat and require some bolt cutters to get her loose, at which point you can carry her around)

Kitchen
Food and a Rat King.

Garbage Chute (WHEEEEEEEEEEEE)

Animal Labs 1-5

Loading/Holding Dock
This is where we confront the bad things that caused the stuff to happen.  Possibilities include: a big, angry monster, Fairchild-as-half-eaten-half-animal-monster-thingie, or just silence and emptiness.

(As you approach the garbage chute, you halt in trepidation.  Whatever did this to everyone else on board, whatever brought you to this point... has likely retreated below deck.  Retreated?  No.  "Withdrawn", maybe.  The thing beneath the ship is waiting for you as a predator, not as retreating prey.

---

As your eyes become accustomed to the dark, you seek out the hidden corners, the deep shadows, the myriad threats that could be waiting for you in the darkness.  Perhaps, here and there, you see some yellowing eyes?  But whether there is a monster here or not is moot - they will not show themselves, because you are not the person who will defeat them.  For now, you are permitted to pass through here at their leisure.)

Escape Pods to follow

(La Cherie notes that all the escape hatches have been destroyed, gutted by the malign force that killed everyone else.  You could repair it if only you had a standard template engine.  It turns out there is one easily available - La Cherie's main power source is a standard template engine inside her chest cavity.  If/when you dismantle it, it pulsates slightly and leaks a bit.  La Cherie moves somewhat haphazardly towards one of the chairs but topples to the floor instead.  You can place the core inside the ship, its takes off and then blam-a-blam, you're arcing across the void of space in an escape pod, with the husk of a robot to keep you company).
