Wow, I'm really failing at the whole 'post every day' part of this meme, aren't i? Well, I'll try to do better from now on :> It's not that I haven't been online, I've just been online wasting my time at
That Guy With the Glasses. I've caught up on Linkara and moved on to Spoony, who, sidenote, is absolutely sex-able. For some reason I find his hair very sexy xD lol TMI. ANYWAY.

day 16 → a song that makes you cry (or nearly)
A song that makes me cry, huh? Well, a lot of songs can do that, in context. I cry at the drop of a damn hat. The Theme from Pan's Labyrinth, Aozora, Kodou (Get Closer), One More Time, One More Chance, Sayonara. But I think the only song that's ever made me cry just by playing - no video, no nothing - was Vienna Teng's Passage. It's so morbid and haunting and sad. :(
Here, have a
Final Fantasy X/X-2 AMV, featuring Passage, by Vienna Teng. It's (the song) is amazing.

day 17 → an art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)
er, crap. Does this have to be an art piece of mine? I hope not, 'cause I don't have one. So instead, I give you
works by Scott Mutter, and more specifically, Untitled (Escalator).
I fell in love with this pic when I saw it at a print shop when I was a kid. To me, it was what magic looked like, and forever drilled this man's name into my mind. XD

day 18 → whatever tickles your fancy
Oh noes, another fancy tickling day! T_T Here, have the most adorable photo of a puppy known to man:
Now, I defy you to look at that and not smile :3

day 19 → a talent of yours
balls, a talent, huh? I don't think I have any real talents to speak of. I'm passable at some things, but not especially good. Something obscure, though...I can crochet. Not very well, mind you, but I know how to do the basics, and I've made scarves and very, very oddly-shaped blankets before. So...YAY!

day 20 → a hobby of yours
Hm. Hobby? ERM WELL. Aside from the obvious, there was a day, back in the day, in which I liked to write. I still enjoy making up stories for my own amusement, at work or on the road, and someday, I'd like to start writing them down again. For now, I lack the desire to sit down and write the way I did when I was younger. But it is something I think I'll always enjoy.

day 21 → a recipe
MWAHAHAHA, BEHOLD, THE ONLY THING I ACTUALLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE THAT IS MODERATELY DIFFICULT. They also happen to be the best cookies known to man. PIIIIIIIG COOOOOKIES!
So, just to note, this isn't MY recipe. I'm not nearly creative enough for that. This just happens to be my favorite thing to make. Recipe and image taken from
AllRecipes.com.
Ingredients
* 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
* 1/4 cup shortening
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup milk
* 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1 cup unsulfured molasses
* 6 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 egg, beaten
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together brown sugar and shortening until smooth. Mix in 1 egg, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in the baking soda, cinnamon, and molasses. Mix in flour until the dough is stiff enough to roll out.
3. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into cookies using a pig shaped cookie cutter. Place cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Brush the remaining beaten egg over the tops of the cookies.
4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes 5 - 10 mins* in the preheated oven, or until the centers of the cookies appear dry and edges are lightly browned.
*15-17 minutes is BULLSHIT. At best, they're not NEARLY as soft as they should be, at worst, they're downright CHARRED. I found anywhere from 5-10 minutes to work best, but as long as you keep checking and take them out when they're still soft, you'll be fine.
In the end, you get this:
PHEW! All caught up. YAY I ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING!
