Food has been a bit hit and miss today. I've currently got a marinade on the go composed of:
Paprika,
Cumin,
Cardamon,
Garlic powder,
Chili flakes,
Celery Salt,
Turmeric, (no, more turmeric than that. Serious, upend the bloody jar)
black pepper,
Half an onion,
Half a bunch of coriander (oh, now I remember this stuff irritates me hands)
Diced beef,
Single cream.
Needless to say, I'm hoping that in twenty four hours I'll have the fixings of a truly awesome curry.
The bean jar tonight was less successful, in fact I've got a bit of a stomach ache. A combination of factors messed it up- forgetting to put in onion and carrot, so that we ended up with a tasteless bean mass, and I'd bought this cheap Polish "smoked" bacon that was very odd and bitter. The smoke was actually this sort of dark syrup that you could rub off the bacon, in fact a lot of it came away as it was lifted from the packet. Bleagh.
Still, Andy brought home some Camembert, and I brought home some hot cross buns, so I anticipate a joyous meeting of the two at some point. I know cheese in hot cross buns sounds weird, but as I discovered one freezing Easter Maelstrom the combination of sweet bun and salty cheese is amazingly good.
Finally, I'm wondering if the middle of this admittedly massive image would be nicer shrunk down as a pendant, or else left that size as a tattoo?
