OMG, I thought my co-workers were bad! But this...holy cow. The poor boy :(.
Highlights of One particular co-worker last week
Relief worker talking about new adaptation of Tess of the D'urbervilles: Perhaps it's a comment about how rape and seduction are actually the same thing.
WHAT?!!
Same relief worker seeing a copy of the Pink Paper: Is that a local newspaper? Me: No, it's a gay, lesbian and bisexual newspaper. Her: Oh! I wouldn't have thought there would be much call for that round here. Me: I think there's call for it everywhere *daggers*
I give up. let's go live in space or something, Ni. x
I have issues with the new adaptation of Tess for precisely this reason. It very heavily implies that she was seduced, whereas the original text is very ambiguous and skirts around the issue of rape. The whole point is that they're not the same thing! *growls at your colleague and at director*
Thanks for being lovely last night, sweetheart - I needed someone friendly to talk to! xxx

I'm voting for "starting a pagan nunnery in the middle of nowhere", but only if we can take forest_rose with us.
