The long drive home with my little brother, Adam, gave me quite some time to think. Adam and I are very close. Most people don’t even realize I have a little brother. He sat there and asked me questions I never would of thought he would ask me. Just a side note Adam is 14 going into the 9th grade. He would ask me about past events he was to young to remember. We would laugh and there would be silence. He would ask me questions about my highschool experiences with drugs and alcohol. We would laugh and criticize our older brother. The way Seth wakes up in the morning and you want to run as fast you can away from the beast from Gainesville.

In the time of silence I thought about my life in the good ole Smyrna. I thought about my loved ones that I care about so deeply. I would do anything for them. They know who I am talking about. Specifically, you know I would drop anything for you and run to your need. I would sleep on my couch and you could have my bed as long as you need. You know whatever you need I would strive to get. Even though you strive not to have help. You know you are loved and you know that is the greatest feeling anyone could ever feel. Love is unexplainable and you have so much of it to offer and to receive. There’s love you don’t even know you have.

Monday night sitting with my dad and little brother you called me. I was hesitant to pick up, but you know I always do for you. Before I could even say hello you sung that song you always leave on my voice mail. Here is a sample line, "I just called.... to say.... I love you". You don’t know how much that meant to me to hear your voice sing that song again to me. Your voice and song brought back some old memories I wish we could only turn back time and do it all over again. You are simply my better half and I would do it all over again because it would be just more time I get to spend with you.

We are ungrateful people who take advantage of the love that is given to us. The hard love that one day we will understand even if it hurts not to understand now. We always live under someone else’s shadow. I have looked down on my life this summer so far and this trip really made me realize what I have back at home.

This makes it all more better to come home. Come home to people I can give my love to and I will always know I will receive their love back. Through all the ups and downs it was worth it all. I know I will always have a shoulder back home to lean on.
