power bill
okay so i just looked thoruhg simmons and mine's power bill for this month and we used $126.81 worth of power last month. we pay $35 a month a piece for power so in the end we theoretically end up paying $105 a month prepaid. So, we only need to pay $21.81 more this month divided by 3 to get what each of us pays bc we dont have to pay the whole thing since we dont have a roommate in the third room. So, we shoudl each pay $7.27 more. Correct? I think so bc I am a math wiz and thats how much we should pay, but campus lodge calculates it like this
Total Bill - $126.81/3 = $42.27 per room
Per Room - $42.27/29 days per bill(per monthly days) = $1.46 a day
So we end up paying $1.46 x 29 days = $7.34 total.
$7.34 x 3 equals $22.02 which is more than our overages cost
See they round their decimals up at the $1.46 per day charge. Technically it should be $1.4575862 and everyone knows that you never round your numbers in the middle of a math problem. You always round at the very very end. Thus they fuck us out of 7 cents this bill and back when our power bills used to be $80 dollars a piece I imagine that they fucked us out of at least a couple dollars a piece.
