pondering

So yeah, I'm watching the Olympics, as always - but here's a good non-Olympics question.

There's this show "Revolution" airing after the Olympics, about what happens when the power goes out. Fine, whatever, capitalize on my love of dystopias - and the dad from Twilight, who is pretty awesome in a series of movies that aren't my bag. That's great. Then I actually watched the commercial and had a pretty big WTF moment.

Why are they using swords and crossbows? If only the power is out, why aren't they using guns? It's not like you have to plug in a gun like an iPod. Is it only an ammo thing? Because judging from the stores, quantity shouldn't be a concern for years. And returning to muzzle-loaders would be tricky but much more effective than a crossbow. It's like the show writers didn't play Civ. Ever.

But seriously. Why are they using swords and crossbows.

it slays me, other tv
