Talk about a moving act of kindness you experienced or witnessed.
Just the fact that my roommate let me move into his apartment was a giant act of kindness. It's not like just anybody lets Death move in. I mean, come on, that's got to be like some kind of omen in some culture or something.
But he did. And I'm quite happy here. Quite glad that he let me. I do miss my own house sometimes with the boundless space and all that, but it's nice.
Let's see. What other kindnesses have I witnessed? Well, all kinds. When you've existed as long as i have you come to recognize the kindesses that people do on a day to day basis. From somebody letting a car cut in in traffic to somebody donating a kidney to a stranger. And really, the kindnesses do outweigh the bad things. You just don't hear about them as much. The news doesn't like to report those kinds of things because it makes for bad copy. So they go unnoticed for the most part.
Once, I watched this guy rescue a kitten. That's my kind of kindness right there. Don't tell anybody, but I gave him an extra year.
