Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door...

The following is a crazy Cliff rambling on Christianity, Absolute Truth, constructed moralities, and hard questions with presented with what is surely only a mere semblance of twisted logic. It is likely rife with poor grammar and unclear thoughts, but hell, this is my personal journal, I shall allow such. I don't expect really anyone to read it ( Read more... )

hookah talk! hookah talk! I want to have a hookah talk with you.
I miss christa-cliff time OH MY GOD IM CRYING IM SO SAD i see you every day and i miss you anyway. you and me and our prodigal wanderings
have you read siddhartha? youd like it

One of my professors told us an african story- there were two villages, one on each side of a road. One day God put on a hat that was blue on one side and red on the other. He walked down the road and everyone watched. When he was out of sight, he turned the hat backwards and walked down the road again. So one village only saw the red side, and the other only saw the blue side. When the villiages met together to discuss God's choice of hatwear, they couldn't agree on what color it was, and so they were like WAAAAR and then God came down and made fun of everyone for being so gullible (well... maybe i just added that part)

the song One Tin Soldier also comes to mind. "...And they killed the mountain people, so they won their just reward. Now they stood beside the treasure, on the mountain, dark and red- turned the stone and looked beneath it: "PEACE ON EARTH," was all it said.

I've found that passivity is the terribly effective... oddly enough.

*hugs Christa* Yay for hookah talks! We need to have another one of those... I remember one time when me and Brian got into a 3 hour philisophical/God talk and discussion while smoking over some good hookah. I still want to read that book when you're finished with it, too! I think I need to make this a series: Cliff's Pontifications! I seriously have a lot more I want to write. But really, the point of my writing is not just to share my thoughts, I want to spark discussion. I want someone to disagree with one of my ideas and explain his/her rationale for disagreeing. I want people from vastly different world-views to discuss these important issues and to try and discover something new. I know, I know... I fully realize I am a dork/hippy/Romantic, but it really is what I want to see happen. The world would be a MUCH better place if people would come together with an open attitude about discussing sensitive issues like religion. Then again, some seem to prefer strapping bombs to themselves or preaching hate and intollerance or going through life convinced that their worldview is the only correct or absolute perception of reality and truth... and honestly, it shall always be that way. But I can mount my own private rebellion...

WORD UP BRO
If you think I'm judging you for being a hippy, you have forgotten who I am.
Seriously, I've really hugged a tree. And I liked it.

and YES! Discussion! Intelligent discussion!

As opposed to the ramblings of the general population: "Blah blah blah, OH MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE HE/SHE DID/SAID THAT, I'M SO MAD/ANGRY/PISSED/HORNY, JUDGE EVERYONE, TAKE SIDES, RAPE AND PILLAGE, DRINK TO FORGET, BOO FUCKING HOO. Oh guess what I saw on TV today!"
