Drat! I wanted to produce a complete track for this song, but I only finished about a minute's worth before the deadline. Hey, at least that's a complete verse/chorus! (UPDATE: The track is up to 3 minutes now! Only one more section to go, then polishing...)
Please check out the track here. I plan to update this link as I continue to progress

One of my favorite types of songs in the whole world is a song with an upbeat melody juxtaposed with decidedly "downbeat" lyrics. I read the lyrics first before listening to the track, and I was instantly surprised by the production, in a good way.
As for the lyrics themselves, well, you know I'm probably your biggest fan in this competition so take it for what it's worth, but they are so raw and so you and I can't think of a negative thing to say.
I'd love to hear the final track when you're done with it, so you'd better not drop it! This was a great return to form for you as a songwriter in this competition, and I really enjoy it.

Okay, so after having a chance to listen to the full acoustic version, and the updated draft, I need to specifically reinforce my comments. I'm not lying when I say you blow me away with your talent, and this particular song is, in my opinion, among the strongest you have done in this competition.
I really appreciate the musicality you're flexing here. The key and tempo changes are spot on, and at times it feels like a mash-up, three or four disparate songs coming together to form something greater than the sum of its parts.
The acoustic version was great, and I love love love the fact that it was a bit rough; it's easy to see your personality shine through there. The produced version is very different from the acoustic version to my ears, but they are both just very on point.
