In true Flynn style Christmas, Sam had spent every year drinking can after can and turning off any festive song that came on the TV or radio. He wasn’t the Christmas type. Years of watching kids get with their family and the whole believing in Santa notion never really cut it with him. Part of it was jealously, part of it was the notion that there was nothing anyone could buy a billionaire. Secretly, and although he wouldn’t admit it the thought was what he wanted. Although he’d make jokes and mock Alan for getting him something every year and acting like a father, he did appreciate the gesture but as he got older it became harder to show.
This year, for all the crazy things that had happened Sam couldn’t believe how far he’d come. The truth of his father’s disappearance right down to a wife and family. He thought taking back every inch of Encom would be the biggest choice he made this year and thankfully he was wrong.
Rolling over in bed Sam opened his eyes and was inches away from Selene. Her flawless complexion and beauty took his breath every time. She looked peaceful when she slept, peaceful and happy. So different from the first time they met, each giving one another attitude over if they had met before and it ending in Sam grabbing and kissing her to prove that they hadn’t.
He didn’t know if Selene had celebrated Christmas much in the past but he did know that this year he would. He had two beautiful children, a wife and wanted to try and do things right. The first of many Christmas’s with his wife, daughter and son. Family unit. So ignoring everything about the thought that counts Sam snuck out of bed and headed downstairs towards the garage. It was still early hours of the morning and dark outside but he wanted to make this Christmas something to remember.
For months now Sam had been hiding presents all over his garage. They were hidden in the backs of the cards, the cupboards and any other place he thought Selene couldn’t find them. Thankfully the kids weren’t at that age where they went snooping yet. It must have taken him an hour to move everything silently out of there and into the livingroom under the tree but once it was done you could barely move in the room for the stacks of presents. Even Selene had her own pile next to the kids. Sam wrapped and got everything himself.
“What do you think Marv? Too much?”, The dog simply groaned under a stack of presents to which he couldn’t move or wiggle his way out of. “Time to get the rest of the family.” Again Marv groaned and looked confused at all the wrapped boxes but Sam didn’t care. He went to the kitchen and started getting everything ready prepared for dinner. Leaving Selene and the kids to have a lay in before they came down.
