A working thesis statement is also known as a temporary thesis statement A purpose statement is one or more sentences that announce your topic and indicate the structure of the paper but do not state the conclusions you have drawn.
3. Why is a working thesis revised? Which questions considered by the writer help to refine a thesis statement?
A working thesis statement is revised because it is only temporary.
4. What does a thesis do for a writer? for a reader?
For a writer the thesis statement serves as a planning tool. It also helps the writer have a guide to writing the paper. For the reader it serves as a map for the reading the paper. It also prepares the reader to read. It helps the reader to focus on the main points.
