The status quo is okay...

Not sure what I'm going to do yet today... I took today off of work to go to a Dr's appointment. I took the entire day instead of a few hours just because I felt like I needed a day off. I've taken days off here and there, but the last big vacation time I took was back in April, so I thought I needed a day off just because. I have to say... I'm very glad that day was today, because after the week I've had at work, I NEED the day off of work. Things had calmed down at work for awhile, but this week everything flared back up.

In any case, I was going to go to the hot springs at Mt. Princeton ( a good 3 hour drive away), but Leah, who was going to go with me, got sick and the weather got crappy, so I've scrapped those plans. I might go up to Boulder later today and have Steven's friend Andrew show me around (he lives in Boulder). I haven't gotten a chance to really explore Boulder, and the inner hippie in me would love the opportunity.

There is another reason I want to go to Boulder... I want to go see the movie Paranormal Activity, not because I believe the hype about the movie (in fact, it looks too much like the Blair Witch Project for my comfort), but because I got quite a surprise when a coworker encouraged me to watch the trailer. Katie is in it! Katie was a girl I used to do theatre with in high school. She was quite the phenomenal actress and got a full ride to SMU for acting. I knew she had moved to LA a few years ago, and she and I (and a bunch of other high school theatre friends and teachers) have kept minimal contact through Facebook. I just really want to see her performance since I have the opportunity (Boulder's not THAT far). I continue to feel obligated to my fellow actors to see them perform even out of high school. Hee hee... I'm happy for her.

I miss acting. I really should try and audition at a local theater for something. That could be fun!

Wish I had other news to report... I really don't. I've actually been very accepting of the status quo lately. It's nice not to have to constantly be striving for something. I've been reading a lot and playing a lot of Rock Band 2. Hiking, meditating... That kind of thing. Unfortunately, I may end up having to have some sort of upheaval in my job situation, but I haven't been job hunting like I said I was going to. I think it is time to go back to that after this week.
