My favorite Chloe picture.
I said it before, I'll say it again: told you I have big eyes. Haha.
Ok, I know I've been remiss in posting the past several moths. This entry aims to rectify that, a bit, through the sheer number of pictures. Some of the pictures I'm posting are from last year pa, I'm not even quite sure if I've posted them or not.
Anyway, I'll start with the latest photos, with the rest following whim and chance.
Driver L (from henceforth to also be known as "ChuaChua"), M (also known as "LaoYap"), E and I went to Subic last Friday.
We didn't do much, mostly just shopped. ChuaChua and LaoYap went swimming, while I walked in the pool--I don't swim, I walk. Pathetic much? Haha.
We had lunch at the Yacht Club. The food combination was weird but actually went well together. I had Beef Carpaccio (I've had better but theirs was decent), we all shared Sukiyaki and the fried mozarella. ChuaChua's tofu is at the back. The bright red drink is their drink of the month. It's mostly watermelon and tomato juice. Say it with me: Eeew. Yes, I'm the moron that ordered it.
I know some of you on my friends list added me because of the food pics I used to post. I have been working a lot with food lately BUT the photographers haven't given me copies of the files yet. I will try to post more food pics in the future. Yes, a nice break from all the bikini pics I've been posting.
This was from the one and only Halloween "party" I attended. I didn't even know MA was having a party until I got to the shoot that preceded it.
Seeing that I had a ride going home (Sucat yung party! Augh!), I went. The minute I got there, I got roped into doing the makeup for the male half of the staff. The women didn't even bother putting on costumes! It was the guys who were excited to dress up...and have their makeup done. Who knew? Haha.
Pictured with me is J, my favorite whipping boy in MA. Whipping boy may not be the correct term, more like punching bag. Whenever I'm at the office (once in a very blue moon), I go straight to the art department and punch him on the arms. That goes on for several hours. He owes me a caricature. Yes, if I continue punching, I may never see the caricature finished.
WORK!
This is the reason why I'm suddenly a John Lloyd semi-fangirl. Isn't he the cutest in the rightmost photo? I can't call myself a fan because I've never watched any of his movies nor his tv shows. In fact, I find him ugly (and baduy as hell) on tv BUT cute and charming in person.
The billboards for AXN watches scattered around the metro are my most useless ones to date as they show John Lloyd (or Lloydie, how baduy can you get?) in a plain white tee fer fuck's sake. Argh. The one on C-5 is a degree better because he's in a plain white l/s polo. Pathetic. That's why I added pic 1 and 2, just to prove that we did dress him up in items other than white. Please note his jean jacket in photo 2; it's actually MY jean jacket. The maid made a mistake of adding it to the clothes I brought for the shoot. Good thing too, it got used.
I'll be posting the tricks Styling Gel ad I did months ago. First couple of pictures will be behind the scenes, with a copy of the final layout after. Please dont mind the final layouts, I took them with my phone cam. I was too lazy to scan them. I haven't actually used my scanner in a long, looong time...
I'm proud of this project because this was the toughest one to date. I basically only had less than 12 hours to source everything (pre-prod 4pm Friday, shoot was 6pm Saturday--take into consideration that shops are closed 9pm til 10 or 11am). Kicker, I had a 2 shoots that Saturday. Thank god I had RT to assist me.
How tough was the sourcing? The list they gave me was detailed, I tell you. If they gave me a couple of weeks, it would have been easy to just have it made to order. As it was, we ran around like headless chickens, trying to complete the list.
In this layout, they wanted a bronze robe. Can't be any other color, had to be bronze, preferably silk. They even wanted a Chinese key design on it, pero hindi na kinaya ng powers namin yun. Greenhills rescued us on this one. Good thing the photographer's wife just bought those white fur carpets. The one I have is old and ratty. The budget was too small for me to buy new ones.
The costume for this one was the toughest to source. They wanted a Ferrari red corset that opened in the front AND the back.
I swear, we went all around Makati and Malate to find one. The best was a black vinyl corset with lace (!) "sleeves" that opened in the front which we found in Malate. I told my assistant to have grommets punched into the back, take off the lace and just spray paint it red. Viola!
The corset was gonna be raffled off, part of the prize list for the promo. Of course, Diana's boobs were so big some of the grommets almost popped off. We had to have the corset fixed before sending it over to the agency.
No behind the scenes photo for this one. I got to the shoot late because I came from another one in Bicutan. This was the first layout they shot. What was tough about this layout? First, they wanted glass sliding doors. O, ha? Kicker, it can't even be seen in the final layout! You should have seen it there, super galing how it was lighted. It looked like there was a pool past the sliding doors, even though we were in a studio.
They also wanted a white or silver cocktail table (SM to the rescue). I decided on white because it was cheaper. Heh.
Diana came straight from Bicol. Obviously, she got all tuckered out. This was the last layout and it was nearing 3am. In between takes, she'd be asleep on the set. I'm sad because the earring she's wearing on this layout is the first ever silver hoop earring I bought. It never got returned after (so now, I have half a pair). Sad because the hoops are flat, and I haven't seen any like it since.
Greg Martin, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, member of Powerboys. Haha! This is an old shoot, for Hawaiian Sun. Last I heard, he's hopping from one asian country to the next because projects are better there. It's kinda hard for him to get projects here because he's stuck in the twilight zone between model and cheesy artista/boy-bander here. My client was pretty happy with the shoot though because Greg knows how to pose, and the images she got were great.
The next couple of photos are for MA. Right now, I think I'm the only stylist who basically does everything, from people to food to products. I even make art and craft projects for MA. All-around, that's me.
It's only for MA that I create recipes (create ha, not copy), cook the food and style it. This particular dish is from a couple of issues back, a meat lover's breakfast. There's mushroom and scrambled eggs on pita bread with hungarian sausage and broiled tomatoes with cheese. Since I usually don't road test, the food isn't perfect for shooting. *sheepish*
I'll try to post the grape salad I made for the Holiday issue, which comes out December. I have to say the dips I made for the last issue (Celebration) was the best seller. The dips got finished before even the shoot finished.
Sample arts and crafts project. The one on the left is on recycling old notebooks while the one on the right is a project for Mother's Day. I am thankful to MA coz I'm forced to be creative again. I haven't really done craftsy projects since college. I think I'll go back to creative gift wrapping this Christmas. I used to wrap presents creatively before, for selected people. I'll prolly do so again this year. Hopefully, I don't feel the malaise I did last year: finding out I didn't like to shop because it reminded me of work.
Ok, that's enough pictures for now. In my next post will be a lot of Chloe pics. They're actually ready but methinks this post is already overburdened with pictures.
Yes, more bikini pics soon...
Edit (Wednesday):
YES, I'M TRYING TO CHANGE MY LAYOUT. YES, IT'S PRE-MADE AND YES, I'M STILL AN HTML IDIOT.
PLEASE HELP.
Off to my shoot...
