Backlog of Shamelessness

Apr 16, 2011 10:33

Well, Shameless Saturday went on a little impromptu vacation when yours truly here forgot not once, but TWO weekends in a row that I needed to post. I have no excuse. Other than that my brain is broken.

That said, we've got a backlog of shameless news! Ready? ROCK IT!

Anne Nesbet has a brand spanking new book deal. HarperCollins has bought two books: one, set again in the eccentric Paris of her 2012 debut THE CABINET OF EARTHS, is to be called A BOX OF GARGOYLES. And the other (an unrelated middle grade novel) is as yet UNTITLED AND MYSTERIOUS. Congrats, Anne! And I for one think UNTITLED AND MYSTERIOUS is such a great...title! :D

Leah Cypess's NIGHTSPELL got a smashing review in Book List:
"As in the previous book, multiple schemes, nefarious plots, and secrets are gradually revealed. Swordfights, blood, and double-dealing pack the pages as this action-filled story races to a surprising conclusion."
YAY! I'm so excited for this follow up to MISTWOOD!

One of our most decorated Inkie titles from last year is now out in paperback! Grace Lin's WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON finally has its softcover release, and in celebration, Grace is doing a giveaway! She's giving away a FREE PRINT OF YOUR CHOICE from her etsy shop to eight random people. To enter, just email gracelin (dot) manager (at) gmail.com with the title of your favorite print! Check out her blog for more information.

And since it's such a beautiful day here in Southern California, if you feel like getting out of the house, I suggest you go see Nancy Holder, who's appearing at the Ontario Public Library Teen Book Fest in Ontario California, 1pm at the Ontario Senior Center (225 East "B" Street.) Other featured authors include Alyson Noel, Cynthia Hand, Katie Alender and Marlene Perez. Definitely an awesome way to spend your Saturday afternoon!
