There is so much awesome this week I hardly know where to start! Foreign rights, cover art, release dates. IT'S ALL TO MUCH! I CAN'T HANDLE THE AWESOME!!!!
Okay, that might have been a tad dramatic. Just a tad.
So let's start with
Marissa Meyer who seems intent on conquering the globe with foreign rights sales. This week: Sweden, Turkey, Spain, and Poland. I think she's outstripped even my multi-lingualness so I'll just say a collective SQUEE!
We've got some Inkies with some great press this week, between reviews and a few "best of" lists. SMALL PERSONS WITH WINGS by
Ellen Booraem got a great review in the February/March issue of The Horn Book:
"reminiscent of Diana Wynne Jones in the inventiveness of the author’s imagination and her ability to sustain an increasingly wilder succession of events." The review adds: "Readers will pull for Mellie to prevail-not only in her efforts to help the Parvi but also in her maturing relationships with herself (as she 'grows into her grandeur'), her family, her new friend Timmo, and her peers."
Yeah, we'll call that a WIN. :)
Meanwhile
R.L. La Fevers is still tearing it up with not one, but two books making news this week. NATHANIEL FLUDD, BEASTOLOGIST: THE UNICORN'S TALE (BK 4) made the spring
2011 Kids' Indie Next list and THEODOSIA AND THE EYES OF HORUS has been nominated for
Malice Domestic’s AGATHA Award in the Children’s/YA category. She's such an overachiever.
Lisa Green has a story coming out in an ebook this week. CURSED is included in the anthology
PLAYTHINGS OF THE GODS and is a retelling of the story of Cassandra as a modern day teenager. Lisa's doing a big
giveaway on her blog which you don't want to miss!
Then there's me. Hee hee.
POSSESS has a release date! And an
Amazon page! I was so excited when I heard the news I fell off my chair. Literally. POSSESS will be hitting shelves August 23, 2011 and is available for preorder, er, now.
Wow. I just got a little sick to my stomach typing that.
I also have final cover art for POSSESS which I'll be revealing on my
blog this Tuesday, February 22nd. Come by and check it out!
Speaking of cover art, I've saved the best for last, people!
Kiki Hamilton has final cover art for THE FAERIE RING! Ready? Ready?
