Summary: Harry and Draco put in a bid to buy a Quidditch team.

Harry and Draco stood in the corridor outside the office of the Minister of Magical Games. They were relaxed and at ease in one another's presence, having come a long way from the turbulence that had marked the beginning stages of their relationship. They still argued from time to time, of course. Harry was given to jealousy over Draco's many admirers, and Draco readily admitted he was territorial and didn't like to share Harry's attention. However, they took care to avoid winding one another up, and their relationship these days was one of easy affection spiced with the occasional bout of temper and bickering. Harry suspected that Draco started some of their squabbles merely to spice up their sex life...and it worked. Last night, for instance, a row had been resolved to their mutual satisfaction in the bedroom.

Today, the two of them were waiting to meet with the Minister of Magical Games to see about purchasing the floundering Cardiff Wildcats Quidditch team. The idea of becoming involved in Quidditch again as owners of a team had appealed to Harry and Draco, but their bid needed to be approved by the Minister and the league's Board of Directors.

The door to the Minister's office opened, and she beckoned them inside. Harry hesitated on the threshold and willed his lip not to curl in an automatic sneer. Dax Durwood, owner of the Holyhead Harpies, was waiting inside as well. The man fancied himself a playboy, and he was often seen gadding about with either male or female company on his arm. He was wealthy and accustomed to fawning adoration and didn't seem to comprehend that some people simply could not stand him. Harry was one of them. Durwood was an oily git with slicked back hair and a greasy smile. That smile was turned on Harry and Draco now, gold tooth glinting in the light spilling in through the window.

"Please have a seat, gentlemen," invited the Minister.

Harry perched on the edge of one of the chairs while Draco settled into his with a casual nonchalance. Durwood's beady eyes fell on Draco immediately, and Harry clenched his jaw and fought the urge to clamp a possessive hand on his lover's knee.

"Mr Potter, Mr Malfoy, I am sure you know Mr Durwood," the Minister began. At their nods, she continued. "Excellent. Mr Durwood is on the Board of Directors for the Quidditch League of Great Britain, and he is here to ask some questions and provide input before your bid to purchase the team in Cardiff is approved. Mr Durwood?"

"Thank you, Minister," Durwood murmured before fastening his shrewd gaze on Harry and Draco once more. "Gentlemen, the Board has reviewed the financial statement you submitted, and it appears to be in order. One of the main concerns expressed by the other team owners is whether or not either of you had any aspirations of suiting up for the Wildcats."

"A legitimate concern," Draco said smoothly. "However, I can assure you and the others that Harry and I have both put our playing days behind us. Our only interest in Quidditch now is to further the sport from an ownership standpoint."

Harry was glad he'd let Draco field that question. Draco's answer had been suave and tactful, and Durwood was smiling and nodding. He had some additional questions, which Harry and Draco answered, and from that point, all that was left was to sign the official parchment.

"Congratulations," the Minister beamed, shaking their hands. They shook hands with Durwood as well, and he held onto Draco's hand longer that was necessary. Harry and Draco finally exited the Minister's office and caught a lift.

"I'm glad that's over," Draco remarked.

"And here I thought you were enjoying all that political wrangling," teased Harry.

"Perhaps, but I wasn't enjoying the way Durwood kept undressing you with his eyes."

"He wasn't looking at me, Draco. He was ogling you throughout the entire meeting."

Their eyes met, and they ended up laughing.

Harry poked Draco none too gently in the chest. "Just make sure Durwood knows you belong to me," he stated. Draco grinned and nodded. Appeased, Harry turned away to face the front of the lift, only to feel Draco's hand grab his arse and give it a rough squeeze.

Draco growled in Harry's ear, "And you be sure Durwood knows this is all mine."
