Pimp-a-Comm (or several)
Allow me to pimp some small comms that need more love:
First off, my own H/D foodsmut community, hd_pots_n_porn. Heh. This month's prompt there is cherries, but any foodsmut or even food-related H/D fic and artwork is welcome.
Second, harry_draco_cat. I know many of you love and/or have cats, so support the community by reading, if not writing. byaghro? I've yet to see your catboy!Draco series posted there. *pokes you*
Third, theferretdraco. Who doesn't love ferret!Draco? hp_animagus has a ferret!Draco challenge going, so write something for it and cross-post it to the ferret!comm. It doesn't even need to be H/D!
Finally, and most importantly, there's hp_lowrating. This comm was designed for younger slash fans and for those who prefer plot to porn; it allows slash fics up to a PG13 rating only. As such, I think it's a vital cog in our fandom, and I'd love to see more posts there. Many of you write lovely slash that isn't all about the smut, and it would be great if each of us committed to cross-posting at least one fic there a month to keep the community active. To entice you into getting your feet wet at hp_lowrating, for August, I will write a 100-word drabble for anyone who posts something there this month. If you choose to participate, leave me a link here to what you post there, along with a one-word prompt, and I'll write any damn thing you want, from any fandom you want. How badly can I mess up "Twilight" in 100 words, huh? *laughs* I'll even write Snarry if you want, but I can all but guarantee you it will be vanilla. *grins* Let's support a wonderful community where we can steer young and/or new HP slash fans.
