Narcissa came for a visit on Saturday afternoon and joined Harry and Draco for tea. She had dropped by unannounced, so Draco took her upstairs to view the renovated bathroom while Harry made a fast trip to Ambrosia to pick up some baked goods to serve. He had the water on to boil and was arranging the teacakes on a beautiful serving platter that Narcissa had given them for a gift when Draco and Narcissa came down the stairs.
"Do you need any help?" Draco called from the dining room.
"Not at all," Harry replied cheerfully. "You sit down and have a nice visit with your mum, and I'll be right out." A few minutes later, he joined the other two, levitating the tea service behind him. Things were going swimmingly until Narcissa abruptly stated, "All right, you two. You can't fool me; now tell the truth."
Harry and Draco darted guilty glances at one another, faces flushed with embarrassment. What had Narcissa seen? Had one of them left a jar of lubricant in an obvious place, or worse yet, a sex toy?
"You bought these fabulous teacakes at the same bakery that made the cakes for your party, didn't you?" Narcissa asked in a voice that was half teasing, half scolding.
Draco nearly deflated in relief, while Harry shared a grin with Narcissa. "You've caught us out," he confessed, "but we love Ambrosia's baked goods, and we often rely on them for our entertaining."
"It will be our little secret," Narcissa declared with a happy smile. "The important thing is, does Ambrosia make wedding cakes?"
