Harry was slumped at one end of the sofa, basking in the cozy warmth of the fire. His eyes were staring absently at the red and green lights that twinkled on the small Christmas tree in the corner. He felt the sofa dip under Draco's weight as his husband sat down next to him.
"The children are sleeping soundly," said Draco. "Thank you for romping in the snow with them all afternoon while I stayed in and took care of the twins. It really helped wear them out."
The minions were excited with the amount of snow outside the cottage, and Harry had been conscripted to go out and play with them. It was loads of fun. At first. By the time he'd called a halt to the activities, Harry was exhausted and cold and unable to feel his toes. In the meantime, his ponker of a husband remained indoors and snoozed with the babies under the pretense of taking care of them.
"I hate you," Harry mumbled without turning his head.
"I brought you some spiked eggnog."
Harry accepted a cup and smiled, instantly cheered. "I may keep you around, after all," he said. He took a sip and hummed in appreciation. "That really hits the spot."
"I'll hit your spot later tonight."
Harry almost choked on his eggnog. He swiped at his chin and felt a rush of heat that had nothing to do with the brandy in his drink. "What are you waiting for?"
Draco smiled his slow, sexy smile and replied, "I'm waiting for you to finish your eggnog."
Harry tipped his cup to his lips and downed the contents in three quick gulps. "All finished," he announced. "Let's get this over with."
