dove_drabbles Prompt No. 134 - Always give from the heart
Summary: Harry's flirting pays off...big time.
By five in the evening, Harry was ready to travel to Malfoy's. However, they'd agreed on seven. Harry puttered about his home, employing some half-hearted cleaning spells. He spent some time playing with Panini. With luck, the kitten would be worn out enough not to rampage through every room while Harry was gone. As the time neared to go to Malfoy's, Harry made sure Panini had food and water. He then took several deep breaths to calm his eager libido and enlarged his fireplace.
Harry tossed down a small amount of powder. "Draco Malfoy's!"
Harry received an enthusiastic greeting as soon as he stepped from the Floo. Unfortunately, it was from Bean, Panini's brother.
"Hello, Bean, how are you this evening?" Harry inquired politely. "Where is your roommate?"
"Potter?" came Malfoy's voice from a distance. "Are you going to loiter out there all evening?"
Harry made his way through Malfoy's home and found his host in the kitchen. "I was catching up with Bean."
"Did he have anything useful to impart?"
"He told me where you keep your stash of naughty toys."
Malfoy dropped a spoon, which clattered onto the floor.
"Ah ha!" cried Harry. "So you do have a stash of naughty toys."
Malfoy huffed, sent the spoon to the sink, and got another from the drawer. He resumed stirring something on the cooker. Clearly, the subject of sex toys was closed. For now.
"Do you need any help?" asked Harry. "You've been in the kitchen at Dragon Brew all day."
"You can take over stirring this while I select a wine to go with dinner."
"Don't you trust me to choose an acceptable wine?"
"No."
"What?"
"Stir, Potter."
Malfoy left the kitchen, and Harry turned his attention to stirring what appeared to be a mushroom gravy.
"This smells amazing," he told Malfoy when his host returned with a bottle of wine. Harry opened the wine, and Malfoy resumed his position at the cooker. In short order, dinner was on the table. They didn't discuss work, either Harry's at the Ministry or Malfoy's at Dragon Brew.
"I need to get Pansy a gift for her birthday," Malfoy commented. "She's difficult to buy for."
"Always give from the heart and you can't go wrong," said Harry. "At least that's what Molly Weasley says."
Malfoy frowned. "Are you suggesting I knit her a scarf?"
"No. Wanker. Why not give her a specially blended tea?" Harry suggested. "Call it Pansy something or other, like you named a panini after me."
Malfoy paused and stared at Harry. "That's brilliant, actually."
Harry made a pretense of preening. "I do have my moments."
Malfoy rolled his eyes even as a reluctant grin quirked his lips. Once dinner was finished, Harry helped clear the table. Malfoy brewed them some coffee which they took to the lounge. They sat side by side on the sofa, pressed together from shoulder to knee. Harry was tempted to gulp his coffee down and pursue dessert, but he decided to let Malfoy set the pace.
Malfoy finished his coffee first and set his cup on the small table next to him. "Are you still interested in a private showing?" he murmured, lowering his lashes and giving Harry's thigh a squeeze.
"I've been interested for hours," Harry replied, voice gone husky and low.
"Mm, is that so?"
"Mm hmm..."
Malfoy stood and stretched. He took two steps towards the hall leading to his bedroom before looking back over one shoulder and giving Harry a saucy wink.
Harry gulped the rest of his coffee down and went in pursuit of dessert.
