"You don't trust me to take care of myself?" Cal challenged.
"I don't trust you not to burn the club down," I replied. It was the wrong thing to say. Cal's interest was now piqued. He did love a good fire. "Do not set fire to anything, Cal. I mean it."
"You never let me have any fun," he bitched.
Cal's idea of fun typically involved mayhem. Fire was an added bonus.
I set down the knife I'd sharpened and picked up another. "Have fun at the bar tonight." I pinned him with another stern look. "Without burning it down."
