Dee sat up and wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of one hand. Ryo stood before him, balanced on the balls of his feet and ready for action.
"You're killin' me, babe," Dee groaned, hoping no one else in the gym had seen him get flipped over his partner's shoulder.
"You're the one who wanted to learn martial arts," Ryo reminded him. "I wouldn't be a very good teacher if I took it easy on you."
"Yeah, yeah," said Dee, clambering to his feet. He shook out his hands and squared his shoulders. "Let's try that again."
