I aimed a nasty glare at Goodfellow while attempting to hold onto a wriggling, mummified cat. "I'm trying," I growled. "He's not cooperating."
Video calls were not my favorite means of communication to begin with. Spartacus seemed to agree. Through the connection, I heard the rasping croak that passed for Salome's meow. That got Spartacus' attention immediately. He flicked his hairless ears and responded.
"She's right here, see?" I told him, holding the phone up to his face.
Salome croaked again, prompting Spartacus to reply.
"Aren't they adorable?" Robin beamed.
