Neville was anxious and excited. He didn't realize he was drumming his fingers on the table until Charlie pointedly looked at them.
"Sorry," Neville muttered.
"Why are you so nervous?" asked Charlie. "It's just dinner. I promise I won't push for anything else."
That was more disappointing than reassuring, but Neville didn't say so. "I like you very much," he confessed, "but you've just broken up with someone, and I don't want to be a rebound relationship."
Charlie smiled and stilled Neville's fingers with his hand. "The only reason I was dating him is because he reminded me of you."
