Harry adopted his best Auror consultant voice and addressed the assemblage. "Okay, troops--"
Ben's hand shot into the air.
"Yes, Benjamin?"
"I thought we were minions," said Ben.
"Minnins," nodded Jasmin.
"Good point," said Harry. "However, I am including your father, and he is not a minion. Therefore, collectively, you are the troops."
Ben's forehead furrowed.
"Ignore him, Ben," said Draco. "Do get on with it, Harry."
"Right," Harry said, nodding like Jasmin had. "Troops, today is a big day. Any guesses?"
"Baking day!" cried Ben.
Jasmin squealed in delight and clapped her hands. Her tutu bounced as she hopped up and down. Harry was grateful his daughter no longer insisted on wearing tutus each day, but she still dragged one out of her wardrobe on occasion.
"That's correct," said Harry. "It's baking day. Your Grammeer will be coming to help, along with Uncle Chesney and Mr Ash." He led the troops to the kitchen and passed around the green Nice aprons.
"Who gets the Naughty apron this year, Dad?"
"Your Uncle Chesney seemed to enjoy wearing it last year, so we'll let him wear it again this time," replied Harry.
Narcissa arrived first, clad in her own Nice apron and with her hair already pinned up.
Chesney and Ash arrived next. Harry tossed the last Nice apron to Ash and handed the Naughty one to Chesney.
"I have not been naughty this year," said Chesney. "I bolstered your reputation at the auction, non?" He donned the apron in spite of his protest.
"What are we making this year?" asked Ben. He stood on tiptoe to survey the ingredients on the center island.
"I will make madeleines," said Ashton.
"I'll be making Mum's favorite chocolate crinkles," Draco added.
"We also need some sugar biscuits to ice," said Harry, "along with the melted snowmen, and I'm going to make white chocolate peppermint biscuits."
"I will provide mulled cider," Chesney announced.
"Can't you bake, Uncle Chesney?" asked Ben.
"I am afraid not, Benjamin."
"You can help decorate biscuits," said Ben, warming to the challenge of including Chesney.
"You try the deer ponker, Chenney," said Jasmin.
Chesney glanced at Harry, looking slightly panicked, while Draco turned away to hide his laughter.
Harry cleared his throat. "She means the reindeer press."
"Ah, oui," said Chesney. "I do recall some enthusiastic--"
"Shush."
"...ponk, ponk, ponks last year."
"Let's get started, shall we?" Narcissa said brightly. "Draco, where is the nutmeg?"

"Pixies!" everyone cried as Ashton's camera captured a photo of the tired, happy bakers. Harry checked the display, pleased with the result. Everyone was smiling and none of them was entirely clean. Each of them sported smears of flour or icing, along with candy sprinkles, and in Draco's case, a smudge of chocolate.
"We'll need to send a copy of this to Carolyn," said Harry. "She was disappointed to miss baking day this year."
"Can we send her some biscuits, too, Dad?"
"That's a good idea, Ben," Harry responded. He saw movement in his peripheral vision. "Get down from there, damn it!"
Cassi bailed off the counter, where she'd been sniffing the iced biscuits.
"Down, dammit!" echoed Jasmin.
"Chesney, give your Naughty apron to Harry," Draco grumbled.
"Look, I managed a photo of your naughty cat," said Ashton. He showed the camera around, and everyone laughed in delight at the picture of Cassi mid-leap. Ashton wandered throughout the kitchen, photographing the results of their baking marathon.
"Hold up your reindeer press, Miss Jasmin," he instructed.
Jasmin grabbed the press and held it aloft. "Ponk!"
Ash took a few more pictures, including one of Ben and Jasmin, one with Harry and Draco, and another of Draco and his mother. He handed the camera to Harry and posed with his fiancé.
Harry returned the camera to him. "This can be your official engagement photo," he said with a chuckle.
Chesney peered at the picture. "Mm, you do look good enough to--"
"Ahem."
"...marry," Chesney finished, grinning guiltily at his aunt.
Narcissa removed her apron. "I shall be off," she said. "I still have so much to do before the soirée."
Chesney and Ashton left shortly thereafter, bearing a small tin filled with freshly-baked biscuits.
"What now, Dad?"
Harry took his apron off and shook it out. "Now we let Kreacher put the kitchen to rights while we all have a snooze."
"I don't wanna snooze, Daddy."
"Okay, Jas, you can help Kreacher clean the kitchen," Harry told her.
"Okay, Daddy!"
Harry blinked at his daughter in surprise. "I can't decide if she's brilliant or daft," he muttered to Draco.
Draco smirked at him. "Slytherin."
