hp_coffeehouse Prompt No. 70 -
astrology mugSummary: Harry has to settle for a date with his kitten.
The following morning, Harry stepped into Dragon Brew with his I ♥ Draco Malfoy cup in hand. He felt a sense of calm and happiness envelop him, and he closed his eyes to savor the feeling. When Harry opened his eyes again, he noticed that the merchandise portion of Malfoy's shop had been restocked. There were more I ♥ Harry Potter aprons for sale, bags of whole coffee beans, and a new assortment of mugs.
"If you're wondering if it would be too egotistical to buy one of the aprons, the answer is yes."
Harry turned to scowl at Malfoy. "I don't want one, you wanker." He paused and asked, "Has anyone actually bought one?"
"Ethel and Mabel both did," Malfoy replied.
Harry's eyebrows rose. "You're having me on."
Malfoy smirked, and Harry sighed. "I was looking at the new mugs," he said.
Malfoy leaned over the counter. "Oh, those ones. Luna suggested them. They feature astrological signs, and she thought they'd be just the thing for those wanting to read their tea leaves."
Harry mulled that over as he approached the counter. "I reckon it couldn't hurt. Have you sold any yet?"
"Lynsey purchased one for Mr Clarke," said Malfoy, plucking Harry's to-go cup from his hand. "A Long Black, Auror Potter?"
"Yes, please," Harry responded. Malfoy had already turned away to fill his cup. When he returned, Harry handed him some money.
Malfoy automatically dropped the change in Luna's jar. "Anything else?"
"I'd like a hot blond, too," quipped Harry. He smirked and took a sip of his coffee.
"Oh? Shall I call Bethany from the kitchen?"
"What? No. Wanker," grumbled Harry. "I was referring to you. Would you like to have dinner this evening?"
"Tomorrow, perhaps," said Malfoy. "I'm busy this evening."
"Doing what?" Harry demanded, feeling surly at being thwarted.
"Bean and I are having a night in to eat crisps and watch the telly."
Harry opened his mouth, but words escaped him.
"Honestly, Potter," tutted Malfoy. "I promised Mum I'd accompany her to the ballet this evening. You're welcome to join us; we have a box."
Harry cringed at the thought. "Er, thanks, but Panini and I are going to stay in and eat crisps while watching the telly."
