Cal appeared nearly feral with his dark hair hanging in his face and an expression somewhere between annoyed and murderous. I was uncertain of his mood but decided to delve into the unknown. I beamed and said, "Ah, Caliban. Just the man I wanted to see."
He pushed his hair back and grimaced. "Okay. I stole that statue of you from your condo because I thought Nik might want it."
"What?" Niko and I asked in perfect synchronicity. It boded well for sex between us if I could crack his resistance.
Cal shrugged. "It was a joke, Cyrano. Lighten up."
