Sometime in the evening, Ryo and Dee left their apartment in search of dinner. Dee had offered to treat, and Ryo wasn't going to turn down an opportunity to relax and let a restaurant handle the cooking and cleaning. The blooming trees they passed as they strolled along the sidewalk looked and smelled wonderful.
The third time Ryo stopped to sniff some blossoms left Dee exasperated. "You're s'posed to stop and smell the roses, not the trees."
"The saying isn't literal, Dee. It's a reminder to slow down and enjoy things, to let life bloom, not just flowers," said Ryo. "Aren't you always telling me to take it easy and slow down?"
"That's because you work too hard, babe."
"I wasn't working this afternoon when you were all, 'Slow down!', was I"?
Dee goggled at his lover. "Ryo MacLean! Are you spoutin' off with dirty talk in public?"
Ryo's face flushed hot, but he held his ground. "You look like the guy who's always encouraging that, too."
Dee couldn't help but chuckle. He snagged Ryo's arm and pulled him back into motion. "You've come a long way, baby. Used ta be you couldn't talk about sexy times without fear of your head explodin' from embarrassment."
"You've been a bad influence on me."
"Are ya sayin' I've rubbed off on you?"
"Horndog," muttered Ryo. He nudged Dee and pointed across the street. "Let's eat there. They have some pretty amazing wings."
"Wings and beer sound amazin' to me," Dee agreed. "We'll slow down, smell the hops, then head home where you can work on more dirty talk, babe."
Ryo rolled his eyes. "Horndog." It did bear repeating.
