It had been a perfect day. Neville and Charlie had breakfast on the flagstone patio, splashed in the waves, and strolled through the village near their holiday cottage. The cozy cafe where they had lunch served up charm as well as delicious food.
It wasn't a world away from Longbottom Manor, but to Neville it seemed so, even as the waves and the wildflowers reminded him of home.
"I haven't seen you smile this much in a long time," Charlie commented once they'd returned to the cottage.
"I'm happier than I've been in some time," said Neville, "here with you."
