I kept the Portkey in my pocket and studied my partner with a critical gaze. Potter appeared sober and alert. Finished with my visual examination of him, I withdrew our Portkey to Ireland.
"Do I pass muster?" drawled Potter.
His cavalier attitude irritated me. "As the responsible one of us, it falls on me to be sure you're fit for duty," I said.
Potter's faint smile became a smirk. "Am I fit enough for you, Malfoy?"
The effort it took not to break his nose again grew harder by the day. I gave Potter a sneer and replied, "You'll do."
