Summary: Faith goes to check on Draco.
As Harry Potter was exiting the salon, Faith just managed to grab her wand and undo the charm that had made his blond highlights orange. She breathed a sigh of relief as the door closed behind him, although privately, she doubted Mr Potter would notice if his hair retained its orange coloring. It was ominously quiet from the back office, and Faith decided that perhaps she should check on Mr Malfoy. Putting the finishing touches to Miss Mordyn's hair, Faith cast a nervous glance at Betsy, then made her way to the back of the salon. She knocked timidly on the door, and hearing no response, she opened the door and peeked inside.
Her boss was seated at his desk, blond head bent and supported by his hands, which were pressed to his temples. Faith approached quietly and cleared her throat. Mr Malfoy looked up at her wearily, and Faith reached into her pocket and extracted a small tin, extending it to him. "Mint?" she offered.
With a wry quirk of his lips, Mr Malfoy accepted the tin, opening it and popping a mint in his mouth. "Thank you, Faith," he sighed.
"I'm sorry, sir," Faith said quietly. "I should have kept my mouth shut out there."
Mr Malfoy sat back in his chair and replied, "Don't apologize. I asked you a direct question, and you answered it honestly. I don't blame you for my slip." He seemed to be staring off into space, and Faith took the opportunity to study his expression closely. Mr Malfoy didn't appear angry or humiliated, as she had feared he would; rather, he had a sort of far away look on his face, not unlike Betsy when she was talking about her beloved husband. He looked somewhat bemused and slightly besotted.
Faith turned away so Mr Malfoy wouldn't see her smug grin, then she excused herself and exited the office. As she returned to her station, Faith noticed that Betsy was nearly beside herself with curiosity.
"Well?" demanded Betsy.
Faith all but smirked as she answered, "I think it's safe to say that Draco Malfoy is arse over ears for Harry Potter, and if Mr Potter plays his cards right, Mr Malfoy will be eating out of his hand next!"
