hp_coffeehouse Prompt No. 53 - rain, coffee, and you
Summary: Only one thing will make this evening more perfect.
Harry was outside of Dragon Brew at 6:46. Part of him wanted to storm the coffee shop, sling Malfoy over his shoulder like a neanderthal, toss him across the nearest convenient bed, and unleash his lust on the object of his frustrated desires. The other part of Harry knew that Malfoy would not appreciate a single part of that plan, including showing up early.
Raindrops began to spatter on the cobbled streets, chasing Harry into the shop next to Dragon Brew. He browsed the wares, not really seeing any of them, as he waited for 7:00 to arrive.
At 6:59, Harry cast a charm to repel the rain, dashed out of the shop and burst through the door of Dragon Brew. Malfoy was setting things to rights with flicks of his wand, while a mop busily cleaned the floor.
"Do you need any help?" Harry asked to be polite.
"Yes, you can do the dishes."
"Sorry?"
Malfoy slanted a glance at Harry and snickered. "Everything is done; I just need to put the mop away." He did so with another flick of his wand. Malfoy took his I ♥ Harry Potter apron off and asked, "Where are we going for dinner?"
Harry leered. "How does dinner in bed sound?"
"Hah!" scoffed Malfoy. "You're not getting out of the wining and dining part of the evening. Hélene Darroze, it is."
Harry groaned. "Don't we need reservations for that prissy place?"
"On the Muggle side, perhaps, but we'll be dining on the wizarding side and you're...well, you."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning they will bend over backwards to seat Harry Potter and guest."
"If it gets you to bend over forward for me--"
"Excuse me?"
"Let's go," said Harry. He paused and looked down. "Am I dressed for this?"
Malfoy looked him over from head to toe, lingering on Harry's midsection. "You'll do."
Harry counseled himself to relax and enjoy dinner. He was almost certain it was going to have a happy ending, which meant he could focus on the food, the company, and the flirtation. He was also enjoying the slow, simmering burn of desire. It was more of an anticipatory feeling than one of mad lust, and Harry found the sensation more pleasant than he had reckoned on.
Once the bill was paid, Harry drank the last of his wine and boldly asked, "Your place or mine?"
Malfoy took the time to sip at the last of his wine before answering. "Mine," he decided. "I have better coffee."
"And a better cat."
"That, too."
They left Hélene Darroze and dashed through the rain to the nearest Apparation point. There, Malfoy took Harry's arm and did the honors. They arrived in Malfoy's lounge. Harry would have preferred the bedroom, but there was no need to rush. They had all night.
Harry played with Bean while Malfoy made coffee in his kitchen. He brought the coffee out, handing a mug to Harry and sitting next to him on the sofa. Harry inhaled deeply and took a bracing sip. The coffee warmed him from the inside out as the rain lashed the window panes.
"Perfect," Harry murmured.
"The coffee?"
"Rain, coffee, and you," Harry elaborated. "Only one thing will make this evening more memorable."
"A smashing game of Exploding Snap?"
Harry almost snorted his coffee. "Yes, Draco, that's exactly what I meant," he sniped.
Malfoy laughed and set his mug on the side table. "That's unfortunate," he said. "I had hoped for some other, more strenuous activity."
The slow burn of Harry's arousal burst into a fierce flame of desire. He set his own mug aside and leaned in to nuzzle Malfoy's neck. "I hoped that's what you would say."
Malfoy tipped his head to allow Harry easier access. He placed a hand on Harry's knee and slid it slowly higher, pausing just shy of where Harry most wanted contact. "You're not...ah...not planning to break my heart, are you?"
Harry gripped Malfoy's chin and gently turned his head so they were eye to eye. "The only thing of yours I plan to break is your bed. Shall we?"
"It's a very sturdy bed," Malfoy said in a whisper.
"Be that as it may, I'm very motivated."
Malfoy smiled and stood up, hauling Harry to his feet with a firm grasp on his arm. "Then by all means, let us do our best to break my bed."
