Summary: Harry and Draco take the mickey out of Lynsey.

Harry would have liked to skive off and return to Dragon Brew to indulge in more flirtation with Malfoy, but he was busier than a Niffler in Gringott's for the remainder of the day. It was late when he left the Ministry, and he had to settle for a solitary dinner and a pre-bedtime wank.

Harry arrived at the coffee shop early the following morning. He wanted to spend more time in Malfoy's company. However, the object of his fancy was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Lynsey greeted him from behind the counter.

"Would you like a Long Black, Auror Potter?"

"Yes, please," replied Harry, handing over his I ♥ Draco cup. He peered more closely at Lynsey's shirt. "What are you wearing?"

She beamed at him. "Can't you tell?"

Harry had an inkling, but he pretended to be thick. "It looks like a white coffee cup on a blue table cloth with stars."

"It's the logo for Summer Moon!" cried Lynsey. "See, it's a full moon in a starry night sky. Caleb gave it to me."

"Ooh, Caaa-leb gave it to you. Are you getting maaaaried?"

Lynsey giggled. "Oh, pish. We're going to dinner tonight."

Harry sobered quickly. "Keep your wits about you," he cautioned. "Bad boy musicians come by their reputations honestly. Constant vigilance!"

"Potter, what are you going on about?"

Harry's attention jumped to Malfoy, who had just emerged from the kitchen. "I was simply reminding Lynsey to exercise some caution this evening."

Malfoy huffed. "Lynsey doesn't need you to lecture her, isn't that right, Lynsey? Besides, I'm going along as a chaperon."

"What?!" shrieked Lynsey.

Harry laughed. "Would you like some company, Malfoy? I have the constant vigilance down to an art form."

"You two are not tagging along and ruining my date!"

"That sounds splendid, Potter. We'll be having dinner at...where is your young hooligan taking you, Lynsey?"

Lynsey's chin jutted out mulishly. "That's none of your business, Mr Malfoy."

"Not to worry, Malfoy," Harry said cheerfully. "I can always arrest Mr Clarke and torture the information out of him."

Lynsey sputtered for a moment before pivoting and stomping back to the kitchen. Harry looked at Malfoy and they both burst into laughter.

"Auror Potter, if you are through guffawing with Mr Malfoy and ruining that young lady's evening, I should like to place an order."

Harry cringed and turned to look down into the disapproving face of Ethel. "Er, yes ma'am," he stammered, eyes flicking to Mabel for help. Her expression was just as severe. Harry cleared his throat and stepped to the side.

"Here's your Long Black, Auror Potter," said Malfoy, handing Harry his cup.

Harry thanked him and turned away, grateful for the chance to escape before Ethel tore another strip off of him.

"Do you intend to pay for that, Potter?"

Harry fished in his pocket, face getting hot as Ethel and Mabel tsked at him. He thrust some money at Malfoy, told him to drop the change in Luna's jar, and beat a hasty retreat.
